Overview
The conical shape provides discus with a large, easily accessible surface for laying eggs. It also allows the parents to reach, tend, and guard the eggs with ease. The cone's design has been refined over many years of practical use in discus breeding. Open at the top - also ideal for artificial incubation. A distinctive feature of the Discus Spawning Cone - STENDKER is the opening at the top. This allows an air stone to be placed inside the cone if needed. The rising air creates a directed flow of water along the cone's outer surface and directly over the eggs. This is especially beneficial during artificial incubation of discus eggs when the parents are not caring for them. The directed current continuously bathes the eggs in fresh, oxygen-rich water. This makes the cone suitable for both natural parental care and controlled artificial rearing.
The carefully applied high-gloss fired glaze also makes the cone particularly easy to maintain. After a breeding attempt, it can be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, then hygienically reused.

Directions for Use: Discus Spawning Cone - STENDKER
Place the spawning cone in an open, easily accessible area of the breeding aquarium. The discus pair can use the smooth outer surface to lay eggs and then care for them. For artificial incubation, a suitable air stone can be inserted into the cone through the opening at the top. The resulting water movement is directed along the cone and over the eggs, providing continuous water circulation around the clutch.
